Atlanta Protest; June 3rd, 2020

A peaceful protest, beautifully organized. We started on the corner of CNN and Centennial Park and made a loop around the city. We got down on our knees several times to honor lost lives, people were constantly handing out food and water, there was a muralist painting George Floyd, and the chants were powerful. Collective energy.

Atlanta City Hall Protest; June 1st, 2020

A peaceful protest organized in order to call for a hate crime bill to be passed and the Obama policing initiative to be implemented.

Atlanta March; June 4th, 2020

A community march in honor of George Floyd’s funeral. It took place at the King Center and everyone was instructed to wear their Sunday best. Dr. King’s daughter, as well as others, gave speeches before we started the march.

Atlanta Protest; June 6th, 2020

Around 5:30 pm, we met a large crowd at the corner of CNN and Centennial Park. The curfew had been lifted for tonight. As the march began, we saw fists in the air by sideline spectators, we heard the blaring of horns as we made our way past large intersections, we marched back the Jackson St. Bridge skyline and all the way to midtown. At one point, a dance party broke out. All of the rallies were peaceful and there was not a single protestor arrest the entire day.
