Overcast Murano Island, Venezia

One Saturday, while I was staying in Padua, my roommates and I decided on an outing to Venice and the island of Murano. We took the ferry that departed from behind St. Stephen’s Basilica and set sail across the hazy lagoon, our hair whipping in the wind, shoulders hunched against the cold.

Murano Island is the one of the two most famous islands to visit while staying in Venice. It’s known for its immense amount of the world-famous Murano glass and the Museo del Vetro, which walks you through the history of glass-making.

The streets were quite empty save the pigeons flapping and flying about. However, the way the colorful buildings stood out so vibrantly against the gray sky was enchanting.

Looking for a place to rest your feet and grab a light bite to eat? We stopped at a cafe called Crema & Cioccolato and it was very cozy indeed.
